  • E-bike regenerative braking: Velorapida presents VeloPlus

    E-bike regenerative braking was a dream, now it's a reality.

    Velorapida presented in Paris the VeloPlus range: the e-bike you recharge while pedaling.

    Milano, November 11th, 2014 | Pedalling with the support of an electric motor without recharging the battery, a dream of many, is today possible.

    The new e-bikes range by Velorapida called VeloPlus was launched on November 6th at the Italian Embassy of Paris. The occasion was a chic one: the event “Creation, Italian artistic genius and its uniqueness in the métiers d’art”.

    Four models to start:

    Yacht, very elegant in its retro style with rod brakes

    Cruise, a classic suitable for every occasion

    Racing, with a distinctive sporty look

    Voyager, for the woman explorer

    E-bike regenerative braking VeloPlus by Velorapida: e-bike regenerative braking

    E-bike regenerative braking but not only: VeloPlus represents a new concept of vehicle. Looking as a traditional and elegant bicycle, it hides a sophisticated electric system able to read and manage the physical strength. This way helps to optimize the efficiency of the “human motor”, providing assistance when it’s more needed and recovering energy in excess when pedalling is efficient.

    Entirely manufactured in Italy, VeloPlus adopts the Bike+ technology by ZeHus: the innovative all-in-one system integrates electric and electronic components in the rear hub of the bicycle, in an elegant way.

    VeloPlus represents the perfect synergy between man and machine.

    VeloPlus can be activated with few pedal strokes and it can be easily controlled with a smartphone application, connected to the Bike+ hub via Bluetooth. This app allows the cyclist to select and monitor the speed and to measure the power generated by himself and by the motor.

  • Biciclette a pedalata assistita: cosa sono?

    Biciclette a pedalata assistita, bici elettriche o e-bike

    Vediamo cosa dice la normativa

    La direttiva europea 2002/24/EC del Parlamento Europeo e del Consiglio del 18 marzo 2002 (Art. 1 comma h) definisce le bici elettriche come “biciclette a pedalata assistita, dotate di un motore ausiliario elettrico” avente le seguenti caratteristiche:

    • potenza nominale continua massima di 0,25 kW;
    • l’alimentazione è progressivamente ridotta e infine interrotta quando il veicolo raggiunge i 25 km/h o prima se il ciclista smette di pedalare;
    • l’alimentazione è interrotta prima se il ciclista smette di pedalare.

    Per i veicoli che rispondono a queste caratteristiche non viene richiesta l’omologazione e sono considerate a tutti gli effetti delle biciclette. In quanto tali, non richiedono assicurazione, targa o licenza di guida. Al contrario, se un mezzo non corrisponde a tutte le caratteristiche sopra elencate, non può essere considerato una bicicletta e pertanto richiede omologazione e registrazione al pari degli altri veicoli a motore.

    Le biciclette a pedalata assistita sono spesso chiamate anche e-bike o pedelec.
